Karlsborg’s undisputed best restaurant! You’re greeted by a warm atmosphere as soon as you step inside, with staff welcoming you in a friendly and familiar way. The bar is delightful, offering delicious and creative cocktails—Gin & Tonic Sjöpung is highly recommended. The menu and wine list are well-curated and beautifully designed.
We enjoyed sashimi with Frøya salmon, steak tartare, a burger, and cod loin. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and very reasonably priced. The restaurant also offers local beer and gin, along with several regional specialties on the menu.
A big plus for the open kitchen, where you can watch the chefs in action. Bistro Rödesund is truly a breath of fresh air in an otherwise fairly tame restaurant scene. If you’re considering a trip to Karlsborg just to dine at the Bistro, there are even accommodation options—since the restaurant happens to be located on the ground floor of the town’s best hotel, Hotell Rödesund.// Anders E
A fantastic, charming, and peaceful hotel with superb and luxurious food. The room was beautifully decorated, and the beds were very comfortable. You can see Lake Vättern from the window. It’s centrally located in Karlsborg, within walking distance of Karlsborg Fortress and the Göta Canal.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotell Rödesund. The hotel is newly renovated, fresh, and centrally located. It offers both a charging station and a bicycle storage room, which is very practical and much appreciated. The hotel is simple, but it has everything you need, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Väldigt fint och trivsamt hotell. Servicen var kanon, rummet jättefint och fräscht. Frukosten var perfekt med precis det man vill ha.

Vi har bott två gånger på detta utmärkta lilla trivsamma hotell, båda gångerna i augusti i samband med FJS-dag i Karlsborgs fästning. Mycket bra läge, trevliga och välstädade rum och mycket god mat i restaurangen. Mysig bar, bra service/personal och trevlig frukostmiljö. Kan starkt rekommenderas.
